WALTER HILL, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a physical fight led up to a shooting that injured a man in Lascassas on Wednesday night.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Timothy Fathera called them around 7:40 p.m. and told them he shot Robert Waddell after Waddell came to his house and started hitting him.

Police say Waddell was shot in the shoulder and got into a car after leaving the home on the 9800 block of Rocky Hill Road.

Soon after, one of Waddell's relatives called an ambulance to a home on Holly Grove Road.

Waddell was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment and was later released.

No charges have been filed at this time.
