SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Two Summerville men have been arrested on child pornography charges, according to the state attorney general's office.
James Curtis Miles, 65, and Brian Paul Franz, 35, were arrested in two separate incidents by Dorchester County deputies, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson said.
Miles is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree, and Franz is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree, according to court documents.
In both cases, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office provided information that images depicting children engaged in sexual activity had been disseminated from accounts traced to the men's residences, Wilson says.
Wilson's office says Dorchester deputies executed a search warrant in Miles' residence on Thursday and seized a laptop and more than 500 DVDs for investigation.
Franz was arrested Wednesday and electronic computer equipment was seized, Wilson said. A judge set bond for Franz at $60,000, court documents state.
Each count of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor is a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison, Wilson said.
Both cases will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
