A former Gamecocks men's soccer player has made the final 23-man roster for the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, will join the team's trek to the international soccer tournament in just a few short weeks.

The USMNT final roster was announced Thursday by coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

This is the goalkeeper's second appearance in the World Cup.

Guzan played for the Gamecocks men's soccer team from 2003 to 2004. Since then, he's played for Major League Soccer in the US and for a handful of European teams.

The USMNT opens World Cup play against Ghana on June 16.
