GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville Police said the man connected to the attempted murder of a police officer is in custody.

Public Information Officer Johnathan Bragg said 28-year-old Darell Johnson was wanted in connection with an incident where an officer was struck by a car fleeing the Shemwood Crossing apartment complex.

Saturday night, the GPD's Facebook page reported that Johnson was captured after a week on the run, in Dekalb, Ga.

Last Saturday, May 17, two officers got out of their patrol car and approached a suspicious vehicle playing loud music in the parking lot, police said. When one of the officers shined a flashlight into the car, police said the driver took off, hitting the officer as he fled and rolling over the officer's leg.
