CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's Memorial Day, when the nation pauses to honor veterans with ceremonies and parades.
In Summerville, the Veterans of Foreign Wars hosted an event at Parks Cemetery for Memorial Day. The ceremony honored those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country.
In Downtown Charleston, the Charleston Men's Chorus performed its annual Memorial Day concert. It's part of the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and happened at Saint Philip's Episcopal Church on Church Street.
East of the Cooper, service men and women were remembered at a Memorial Day festival.
On Sunday, the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens they held the event.
People from all over the Lowcountry came out to not only celebrate the long weekend, but remember what Memorial Day is really about, honoring those who died in service.
