Police searching for suspect after bank robbery in West Ashley

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect who robbed a West Ashley bank Friday afternoon.

Police say the robbery happened at 11:56 a.m. at the TD Bank on 852 Orleans Rd.

A helicopter and K-9 were deployed to assist in the search for the suspect. CPD officials say no one was injured in the incident.

Investigators describe the suspect as a black male between 35 and 40-years-old. He was last seen on Orleans Road toward Hazelwood Drive.

CPD officials also released a photo of a hat similar to the hat the suspect wore in the robbery which displays the message "Jesus Is My Boss." Police ask anyone with information about area organizations distributing the hat to call police at (843) 720-2487 and ask for Detective Fulton or the on-duty detective.

If you have any information on the robbery you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or Consolidated Dispatch at 743-7200 and ask for the on-call CPD detective.
