Motorcyclist killed in crash on Nelson Ferry Road

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The driver of a motorcycle was killed in an accident in Berkeley County Saturday afternoon.

Officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say a pickup truck driving west along Nelson Ferry Road was turning onto another road when it hit a motorcycle traveling eastbound.

Officials say the accident happened around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to highway patrol officials, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. His identity has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.

    The Isle of Palms Public Safety Committee will be discussing the possibility of a shuttle that would run between the island and Mount Pleasant on Wednesday night. It’s not the first time they’ve discussed this.
