Danor Gerald (http://www.IMDb.me/danor) is a rising film star, with his first starring role in the dramatic World War II film Saints and Soldiers 3 (2014), directed by Ryan Little and based on a true story about African Americans serving in the military.

Gerald’s performance as African American Sgt. Jesse Owens depicts a fictional hero based on a compilation of real people, who was able to lead those who would not be led. He brings the reality of segregation and bigotry in the military and society to an audience who have not known or experienced that part of American history from the not so distant past.

He was also in another film directed by Little, Forever Strong (2008), a story about the famous Highland Rugby Team.

Gerald was a champion high school and college athlete, and maintains a high level of fitness and a very athletic appearance. He grew up in Fitler, a rural town in the Mississippi River Delta, and in Texas. He became a springboard diver in high school, and attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas where he received scholarships in both diving and acting. He was a Collegiate All-American, Arkansas Coaches NAIA Diver of the Year, and is a member of the USA Swimming Hall of Fame.

Gerald’s acting career began in regional equity theaters with critically acclaimed performances in To Kill a Mockingbird (1997), The Sound and the Fury (1996) and The Gingerbread Lady (1995). His first major appearance on television was in 2 episodes of Sheena (2000) a short-lived fantasy series shot in Florida on the Walt Disney World property.

When he was between contracts at Walt Disney World, Gerald worked as the first African American cowboy on one of the largest cattle ranches in the country.

His first role in a feature film was in Believe (2005), came while he was earning a Digital Cinema degree in Utah. His first leading role was in The Cyclist (2012) produced by Jeff Johnson. He was also in High School Musical 2 (2007), and House of Fears (2007).

Gerald said he looks forward to new and challenging leading roles, as well as opportunities to direct feature films. In addition to IMDb, he can be found on Facebook and Twitter (http://www.facebook.com/DanorPage and http://twitter.com/DanorGerald).
