CHARLESTON, SC -
Goose Creek native Raemond Robinson confirmed on Twitter on Thursday morning that he will transfer to Charleston Southern to play the final 2 years of his eligibility.
Robinson, who will have to sit out the 2014-15 season, announced last month that he would be leaving The Citadel where he spent the 1st 2 years of his college career.
"I'm officially a Charleston Southern Buccaneer!!! Thanking God for the opportunity #Bucnation" Robinson tweeted Thursday.
He received congratulatory tweets from current CSU guard Arlon Harper, former Goose Creek teammate and current UConn Linebacker Jalen Stevens among others.
CSU Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh isn't allowed to officially comment on Robinson due to NCAA transfer rules, but he did tweet today "Great day for the Bucs!! Love adding thorougbreds to the stable!"
Robinson played in 29 games for the Bulldogs last season averaging almost 3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Those numbers were down from his Freshman season when he started 10 games and averaged 4.5 points and over 2 rebounds per game.
He's the 4th member of The Citadel's basketball team to leave the school this offseason following Matt Van Scyoc, Dylan Setzkorn and Nate Bowser.
