A new science-fiction franchise has quietly started filming in Hollywood – and it features a royal roll call of genre favorites!

Crafted by Sliders alum Marc Ziree, Space Command will feature stars from such classic science-fiction fare as Lost in Space, Babylon 5, Star Trek Voyager and Stargate Atlantis. On the call sheet, names like Robert Picardo, Bill Mumy, Doug Jones and Mira Furlan.

According to a spokesperson for the project, Space Command will “follow the bold adventures in space of the United Planet’s Space Command, a dedicated group of scientists, soldiers and adventurers exploring and taming the vast expanse of our solar system for human colonization”.

Like the classic Star Trek, Space Command will present a “hopeful vision of the future”.

Writer/director Marc Ziree has been involved in some of TV’s biggest and most-loved series including The Twilight Zone, The Real Ghostbusters, Forever Knight, M.A.N.T.I.S, The Incredible Hulk, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, The Lazarus Man, and ’90s smash Sliders.
