DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -
Woodland Defensive End Michael Barnett, who's considered by most to be a 4-star recruit, announced on Twitter Sunday afternoon that he has committed to play at Florida State starting in 2015.
"Im proud to announce that I'll be spending my next 3-4 years at Florida State University!" Barnett tweeted. "Now I can focus on the real task at hand...Woodland high going all the way to state!!"
Barnett had a monster season for Woodland as a Junior putting together 89 tackles, 31 of those for a loss, and 7 sacks. He had originally committed to Virginia Tech during his Junior season but de-committed earlier this year.
"The environment down there isn't like any other" Barnett said in a statement to Live 5 Sports. "First the coaches treat you like family and when they're on the field they push you to the extreme so you can maximize your potential and be the best you can be."
Barnett also said what Florida State offered in the classroom was a big plus.
"They have one of the best broadcasting majors in the country."?
