CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 33-year-old man was stabbed once and slashed multiple times by the mother of his three children after the two got into a "heated" argument about God over the weekend, according to Charleston police.
Authorities were called out to Orleans Gardens Apartments Saturday around 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports regarding an assault in progress.
An incident report states police arrived to find a man holding a knife-wielding woman by the arms as he screamed, "Help me, I'm holding her hands, help me!" The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Megan Shenell Gordon, was ordered to drop the knife and was arrested.
The victim told police the incident began after he and Gordon got into "a heated verbal altercation about spirituality involving God." The victim reportedly went to the bedroom to pack his things when Gordon entered the room swinging a steak knife and a butcher knife.
Gordon, who has three young children with the victim, was able to slice the victim three times on the arms and stab him once in the upper arm before police arrived, according to the incident report.
The victim reportedly denied transportation to the hospital, and was treated on scene for his injuries
Gordon has been charged with criminal domestic violence high and aggravated nature.
