BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for the shooting death of a 21-year-old Berkeley County woman.

Court records state Brandon Jenkins was sentenced on Monday after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder in the 2011 death of Brittany Aigoro in St. Stephen. Last month, Sheldon Goodman, 24, was sentenced to 23 years in prison after pleading to the same charges.

Also charged in the incident were Aigoro's fiance Aveon Goodman, Arnashia Latifah Stokes, Joshua Jenkins and Deanna Shaw.

Officials with the Berkeley County Coroner's Office say Aigoro of Pineville was visiting friends at a house on Russellville Road near St. Stephen when she was shot and killed on Sept. 26, 2011.

Authorities say an investigation revealed that a group of individuals were attempted to carry out an armed robbery of the people at the home. Gunshots were fired during the armed robbery and two victims were injured.

Aigoro succumbed to her injuries while on the scene and another victim was transported to an emergency room and treated for his wounds.
