Police arrest man suspected in downtown Charleston armed robberies

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of two armed robberies in downtown Charleston.

The Charleston Police Department charged Kyle Grant with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Investigators say Grant was charged for an incident on May 30 on Ashton Street where he is accused of robbing the victim of their wallet.

Grant is also charged for another armed robbery on Hagwood Avenue.

Police are continuing the investigation. Grant was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
