HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A young Alabama Hammers fan got the surprise of a lifetime at the Von Braun Center Saturday.

James Pollard is six years old and lives with cerebral palsy. Four years ago, James underwent a rare spinal surgery in St. Louis that has helped him partially regain the ability to bend from the waist.

Despite his condition, he remains the Hammers' number-one fan, often checking the calendar for the next home game. At the most recent home game, this young man experienced a magic moment from the House of Mouse.

During halftime at Saturday's game, the Hammers, along with the Magic Moments Foundation, surprised James with the news that he will travel to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World.

"This is a big milestone for James, as it was four years ago he underwent that special spinal surgery," said James' mom, Mary Ellen.

James' favorite player, he said, is Number 11, Darian Barnes.
