Woman rescued after falling from Twin Falls

PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman had to be rescued after falling from Twin Falls in Pickens County on Monday afternoon.

Vineyard Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Kevin McClain said the woman and her boyfriend were climbing on the falls when the woman fell.

McClain said rescue workers carried the woman about a quarter of a mile to a helicopter that airlifted her to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

He said she was suffering from compound fractures and injuries to her face.

The woman was conscious and talking when she was brought to the helicopter.
