Jasper County man accused of trying to murder wife

Posted: Updated:
JASPER CO., SC (WTOC) -

A Jasper County man is accused of trying to murder his wife on Monday night.

Deputies found the victim, Ruby Noriega, at a neighbor's house on Fordville Road with several gunshot wounds to her leg.

Investigators said her husband, Tonatiuh Noriega, shot her and fired shots at another person. Then they said he went over to the neighbor's house to shoot his wife again.

"From what we're gathering, it's a domestic dispute," said Gregory Jenkins of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office. "We know before the initial residence that there was something that had taken place before that, and it may have been in a vehicle. Somehow, someway, from that point, it went to the residence and then over to the neighbor's house."

Ruby Noriega was treated at Coastal Carolina Hospital and released.
