Lowcountry events will light up skies to celebrate July 4th

 No July 4th celebration is complete without fireworks, and these five Lowcountry events will help you enjoy them.

1. Patriots Point 4th of July Blast

Beginning at 6 p.m. at the U.S.S. Yorktown Flight Deck at Patriots Point 

Enjoy a professional fireworks display and shore side party with a beach music band. Tickets on the flight deck will be sold in a limited quantity. For $20 per person ($10 for children 11 and under), guests on the Flight Deck will enjoy special access to the U.S.S. Yorktown starting at 6 p.m., with catered food and beverage available for purchase, as well as live musical performances and activities for kids throughout the evening. Once the sun sets in the Charleston Harbor, the Flight Deck of the Yorktown will offer a front row seat to the fireworks display, which will feature firework shells shot from a barge in the Cooper River. Lawn chairs are encouraged for guests on the Flight Deck; but no coolers or personal food will be permitted.

2. Independence at Cane Bay 2014

July 4th, 5-9 p.m. at Cane Bay High School

A professional fireworks display, climbing wall, huge inflatable water park, face painting, games and more will attract kids of all ages. There will also be merchant vendors and food trucks. Admission and most activities are free of charge. Some booths / vendors providing things like crafts, face painting and the climbing wall may charge a small fee.

3. 8th Annual Sizzling Southern Celebration

July 4th, starting at 6:30 p.m., at 149 Wentworth Street, North Charleston

Join Wentworth Mansion® and Circa 1886 in celebrating Independence Day in true southern fashion with libations and delicious 3 course "Grill" dinner, all accompanied by live music. After dark, guests head to the Mansion's cupola with panoramic views of the city to watch Charleston's fireworks display. The cost is $70 per person, including a glass of champagne, excluding tax, gratuity and additional beverages.

4. Uncle Sam Jam

Gates open at 7 p.m., Music begins at 8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Pier

Enjoy the cool harbor breeze as you dance to live beach music at a great venue for celebrating our independence, the Mount Pleasant Pier! At the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, stretching 1250 feet out into Charleston Harbor, the scenic Mount Pleasant Pier will also be a great spot to watch the area's fireworks displays! Join in on the party at the end of the pier, and groove to live beach and party music. Beverages will be available for purchase on-site and treats and snacks will be available at the Riverwatch Cafe. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited. Admission is $10 ($8 for Charleston County residents.) Admission will be $10 on-site, if space is available. Buy online or call the number provided. Sales end at midnight on Wednesday, July 3. Only 800 spaces are available. No refunds or exchanges. Food, beverage, and parking fees not included in price.

5. Craft Brews Cruise

Come enjoy your 4th of July on the Carolina Queen for great craft brews! The Lagunitas Brewing Company is hosting this 4th of July celebration on the Charleston Harbor Tour's Carolina Queen. Enjoy $4 Lagunitas craft brews. There will be live music by the Weigh Station and delicious food by Roti Rolls available for purchase. $30 per person Boarding is at 8pm and the cruise lasts from 8:30-10:30 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m.
