CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The premiere of CBS's new legal drama, "Reckless," which is set and filmed in the Lowcountry, premiered Sunday night.

Throughout the show, viewers were treated to beauty shots of the city.

"It's figured so prominently, like all of the historical buildings and the courthouse figure so prominently in the filming of the show that it does feel like another character," actress Kim Wayans said.

The Holy City was selected as the show's setting by a producer of the series who vacationed in Charleston, which he described as the "perfect pairing of beauty and seduction."

"But underneath it all - it certainly is a very fun city - a place where people know how to party. It's a place that does have it's steaminess and it's a place that can be very, very sexy," Ian Sanders said.

The cast and crew have been filming around the Lowcountry for the past year -- including at Live 5 studios.

"I love Charleston. The heat was a challenge to get used to, especially wearing suits all day," actor Cam Gigandet said. "But it's one of my favorite places to shoot. And the fact that we actually got to live there and stay there is even better. It actually ended up feeling like home, which is pretty cool."

And for those who call the Lowcountry home, many got to see first-hand the lights, cameras and action.

"For the most part, it really felt refreshingly - the Charlestonians were kind of like, 'ok that's nice, but we're not too starstruck.' which I thought was really sweet and refreshing," creator Dana Stevens said.
