Greenville County deputies and SWAT was called to a home near Piedmont on Monday afternoon.

Sgt. Jennings Autry said they received a call about a man making threats inside the home on Pine Drive in the Piedmont area. He said a 14-year-old boy was inside the home at the time of the call.

Autry said due to the nature of the incident SWAT was called.

The SWAT team was able to make entry and safely removed the teen from the home, according to Autry.

The man, who is a retired Greenville County deputy, was detained without incident, Autry said.
