Lowcountry patriots spent Friday afternoon celebrating America's birthday at Riverfront Park, in North Charleston.
As part of this year's festivities there was the Community Chalk Wall. It was an opportunity for folks young and old to say "Happy Birthday America" through artistic expression.
Meanwhile, families gathered and grilled out. That meant the sweet smell of barbeque filled the air and some hungry stomachs.
But what stood out to those we spoke to was the sense of community pride.
The entertainment included a number of bands. And if you weren't in the mood to cook for yourself, a food vendors saw long lines.
