Authorities say a 30-year-old is behind bars following a fatal Fourth of July shooting in North Charleston.
Dorchester County deputies responded to reports of a fight in progress Friday around 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Cedar Grove Drive.
An incident report states the first arriving deputy heard gunfire inside the residence, and commanded for anyone inside the duplex to step outside.
Deputies say Antwan Black exited the his home in "blood soaked clothing," and was quickly detained.
The report states officials searched the home and found the victim, 43-year-old Anthony Eugene, lying face down in a bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Black was charged murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. His bond was denied Sunday.
