GAZA CITY, GAZA STRIP (CBS) - Israel continued its airstrikes targeting areas across the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

As dawn broke, large plumes of smoke could be seen rising from buildings in Gaza City that were hit by rocket fire.

Loud explosions could be heard during the night followed by flashes of light as the rockets hit.

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its offensive on Tuesday.

And although Palestinians have fired more than 600 rockets at Israel, there have been no deaths, in large part due to the Iron Dome, Israel's rocket defense system.
