Deputies: Men shoot each other in argument

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County deputies say two men shot each other early Wednesday morning.

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Small Hills Road and Old Back River Road at approximately 1:22 a.m. Dispatch advised them that one of the victims was "in and out of consciousness."

The deputy located one victim lying on his side in an embankment in the woods and saw blood on the lower portion of his shirt and a gunshot wound to his stomach, according to the police report. The deputy found a small pistol on the ground under the victim's leg after the victim had been moved out of the embankment so emergency personnel could reach him, the report states.

The victim told the deputy he met with a man he called "D" to sell him some speakers, but that "D" shot him.

The deputy located a second man who had also been wounded, the report states.

Both men were transported to MUSC for treatment. Doctors discovered one of the men was shot four times and the other was shot three times, according to Berkeley Sheriff's Maj. Rick Ollic.

The investigation is ongoing.
