MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The Mount Pleasant Planning Commission voted down a conceptual plan Wednesday night for a shopping center at Long Point Road.
While the commission did vote down the plan, they approved rezoning the property from industrial to mixed use.
Residents at the meeting said they were concerned about what the development would do to traffic.
The lot is empty now but the developer plans to build a grocery store, gas stations, a couple fast food restaurants and 196 apartments.
The plans will now go to the town council who will use the commission's recommendation but can overrule it.
