SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A 25-year-old man wanted for allegedly smashing a beer bottle over the head of man outside a Summerville night club earlier this year was arrested early Thursday morning after returning to the place where it all went down.
Dorchester County deputies arrested Stanley Labryant Simmons at Club N.V. on 5th N. Street around 1 a.m. Thursday. Officials say Simmons was found inside the club and taken into custody without incident.
An anonymous tip led deputies and Summerville police to the suspect.
Investigators say Simmons hit a man in the head with a beer bottle while at the club on May 10. The victim was later shot and left paralyzed at a home near the night club.
Simmons has been charged with first degree assault and battery.
