LADSON, SC (WCSC) - Seismologists recorded a 1.9 magnitude earthquake near Ladson on Saturday night.
Officials with the U.S. Geological Survey say the quake occurred Saturday at approximately 11:03 p.m. with an epicenter three miles south-southwest of Ladson and five miles south-southeast of Summerville.
It had a depth roughly three miles below the surface.
According to the UPSeis program at Michigan Tech, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5 or less is usually not felt but can be recorded by seismograph.
