CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - For the first time in nearly 25 years, a West Ashley shopping center is getting a makeover.
Right now, some stores in Ashley Landing along Sam Rittenberg Blvd. are empty. Soon, the area will see a facelift, as Charlotte-based company Faison Enterprises bought the property for just more than $1.9 million.
Leaders with the developers say they're going to revive the property. But first, they're aiming to renovate the storefronts and redesign Ashley Landing.
It's all part of a bigger plan called the West Ashley Economic Development Strategy.
In the future, the City of Charleston hopes to rejuvenate the area and attract more developers like Faison.
From landscaping to new lights, Faison Enterprises leaders say new life will be coming to Ashley Landing in the next 6 months to a year.
