NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Police are investigating a report of an early-morning shooting in the area of Peacock and Phyllis Streets at just before 4 a.m. Saturday and the possible connection to a victim dropped off at MUSC with gunshot wounds, according to North Charleston police.
Police responded to the report of a shooting early Saturday morning in the 2800 block of Peacock Avenue, but did not find a victim at the scene, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. However, police were alerted a short time later that a victim had been dropped off at MUSC with a gunshot wound to the elbow and cheek area, Pryor said.
Police say it has not yet been determined if the gunshot victim was wounded in this shooting incident, but that the victim's wounds are not life-threatening.
Investigators are waiting to interview the victim, who is still being treated at the hospital, Pryor says.
The investigation is ongoing.
