Boy it just feels different out there today! More like a normal late July/early August day. The humidity is raging, the mosquitos are chomping at the bit and a few pop-up storms are developing. That's classic Carolina summer-time! We'll get back to normal for this time of year through this week, but it might not feel so normal after the cooler weather of recent.
Today and Tuesday we'll have a threat for a few pop-up afternoon storms. During the heat of the day, those storms could get briefly strong with damaging wind and hail.
Wednesday and Thursday look dry, and hot! High pressure will keep a firm grip on our weather for mid-week, but things change by Friday. The high pressure will move north, introducing another wedge pattern (like what we saw late last week). This means an east breeze will set up to pull in cooler air and eventually cloudy and rainy conditions. So, Friday-Sunday look to be cooler than normal with highs in the 70s in many spots!
So, the week is shaping up like this:
- Hot & mostly dry Tuesday-Thursday
- Cloudy and cooler Friday-Sunday, with scattered showers and t-storms. Rainiest day looks to be Saturday at this point.
