NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston firefighters are on the scene of an early morning mobile home fire that sent one person to the hospital.
Officials say the call came in around 4:30 a.m. at a home in the area of Dundrum and Nelson streets in North Charleston, just off Dorchester Road. Units arrived to find smoke coming from the single family home.
The fire was contained to the bathroom, and was extinguished in 10 minutes.
Firefighters say one resident was inside the home when the fire started, but as able to escape. The resident was hospitalized with smoke inhalation.
Fire damage occurred mostly on the inside of the home, which is believed to not be a total loss, according to officials.
Crews are working to identify the cause of the fire.
