CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 2-year-old was taken to MUSC to be treated for minor injuries, following an auto-pedestrian accident on Highway 162 in Ravenel Tuesday night, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say the accident happened just before 8 p.m. Witnesses told deputies the child ran out of a house, trying to catch up with a family member who was checking the mail across the street.
The child then ran into the road, and was hit by a car traveling southbound toward Hollywood, according to the sheriff's office.
The child was then taken to the hospital to be treated. Deputies say the driver is not facing any charges.
