Report: Upstate man shoots relative in the buttocks during property line dispute

CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC (WYFF) -

A 68-year old Upstate man was shot in the buttocks by a family member during a dispute over property lines, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff.

Sheriff Steve Mueller said deputies were called to a home on Ingles Drive in Gaffney at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday about a shooting.

Mueller said when an officer arrived at the home he found a man with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

He said deputies interviewed a 65-year-old man who identified himself as the shooter. According to deputies, the man said he was a family member of the victim and they had an ongoing dispute over property lines.

Deputies said the man said he was getting his gun from his pants when he shot the victim.

The victim was taken to those hospital.

No charges have been filed, Mueller said.
