Deputy, driver transported to hospital following 2-vehicle accident in Goose Creek

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol officials say two people including a Berkeley County deputy were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following an accident in Goose Creek Monday night.

Berkeley County emergency officials said the accident was in the area of Red Bank Road and Harbour Lake Drive.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident involved the deputy's cruiser and an SUV.

According to Dan Moon with the sheriff's office, the deputy who was injured suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to MUSC in stable condition.

SCHP officials say the driver of the SUV was taken to Trident Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Highway Patrol officials, the four passengers in the SUV were treated for minor injuries.

The accident prompted officials to call in a helicopter, which was later called off.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
