GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office say they have arrested a fugitive and are searching for another who attempted to run over DEU agents before crashing his SUV into a house.
Authorities arrested 20-year-old Walker Dwane Bone of Georgetown on Wednesday at 12 p.m.
The sheriff's office is continuing the search for 19-year-old Xavier Rashon Reed.
On Monday, agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement unit say they observed three men in a 1998 Lincoln SUV engaged in drug dealing activities.
Authorities say when agents attempted to stop the SUV, which was driven by Bone, the suspects failed to stop. Deputies say after the suspect's vehicle traveled a short distance, Bone fled on foot from the still moving SUV.
According to authorities, Reed then took control of the vehicle.
A report by the sheriff's office states Reed crashed the SUV into a house at the intersection of Yadkin Avenue and Congaree Lane before attempting to run over agents who were on foot.
Deputies reported that Reed and another passenger then fled the scene with the vehicle.
With the help of citizens, deputies say the SUV was tracked to Linen Lane in Georgetown where Shaquille Walker, another passenger in the SUV, was arrested. Walker was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and was locked up at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
GCSO officials say Reed fled on foot through a creek and was not located. Agents reported finding drug paraphernalia and marijuana remnants in the suspects' vehicle as well as bullets.
Anyone who knows Reed's whereabouts is asked to contact the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit at 843-461-1661 or the Georgetown County Sheriff's office.
A release by the sheriff's office states that due to the presence of the ammunition in the vehicle and the actions of Reed, agents consider him possibly armed and dangerous.
