RAVENEL, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has identified the body of a man who was found in a Ravenel marsh on Wednesday.
The coroner identified the body as 28-year-old Abner Lopez of North Charleston.
Officials with the coroner's office ruled the manner of death a homicide, with the cause of death being released at a later date.
Charleston County deputies said emergency crews recovered the body which was found in the marsh at Bulow Boat Landing on County Line Road Wednesday morning.
Dorchester Co. deputies reported responding around 7:50 a.m. to the scene after Charleston County deputies responded to the location.
Dorchester authorities say a Charleston County survey crew was doing work at the landing when one of them, who was looking for bottles, walked toward the water and saw the victim.
The three-man survey team then walked over to the area, saw the victim and called 911.
In newly released 911 audio, one caller tells emergency dispatchers that the body appeared to be tied or strapped to something underwater.
