Lottery officials: $1 million MegaMillions ticket sold in Summerville

If you purchased a MegaMillions ticket at a Summerville grocery store, check your ticket. Someone is $1 million richer, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold at the Publix on State Road, lottery officials say.

All five white numbers matched in Tuesday night's drawing, which means the ticket is a $1 million winner.

Had all five white numbers and the Megaball number matched, the ticket holder would have won a share of the $160 million jackpot. Had the ticket holder purchased the Megaplier option for another dollar, the ticket would have been worth $4 million, lottery officials say.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's drawing were 22, 29, 56, 67 and 71, with a Megaball of 15, according to the lottery.

According to lottery officials, more than 26,000 players in South Carolina hold tickets worth prizes from one dollar up to $1 million, and more than 8,000 paid the extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, increasing the winnings.

The MegaMillions jackpot for Friday night's drawing is now an estimated $180 million. The odds of winning are 1 in 18,492,204.
