MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) -
Moncks Corner Police say a customer tricked a cashier at Walmart into giving him hundreds of dollars from a register.
Investigators say the suspect purchased a bottle of water with a $50 bill on Aug. 10, and asked for change. The shopper then pulled what police call a "quick change scam."
Investigators say the suspect had a large number of bills in his hand and asked the cashier to exchange them for the $100 and $50 bills in her drawer. Police say the guy continued to grab, take and switch bills, confusing the cashier until he got all of her large bills.
Cops say an accomplice was behind him in line, blocking the view of anyone else.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
