N. Charleston Police arrest 3 on meth charges

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston Police arrested three people on meth charges after an investigation into a possible inactive meth lab at a Rivers Avenue hotel on Thursday afternoon.

Ashley Wright, Timothy Tinskey and Reginald Butler were arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and manufacturing meth, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

Police responded to a report of a possible meth lab inside a hotel room on the 5000 block of Rivers Avenue. Once inside the room, officers located drug paraphernalia, a small quantity of marijuana and a book bag with tubing exposed sitting in plain view, Pryor said. Investigators say they also noticed a strong chemical odor and immediately evacuated the occupants.

During a more detailed search, investigators found 4.16 grams of finished meth, Pryor said.

The investigation is ongoing.
