Four sought in N. Charleston grocery store attempted armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say four men are on the run after attempting to rob a Rivers Avenue grocery store at gunpoint Monday morning.

Police say Red & White Food Store, located at 6550 Rivers Avenue, was the site of an attempted armed robbery around 10:16 a.m.

According to officials, four male suspects, two armed with handguns, entered the store and demanded money. The suspects did not receive any money, and fled the store.

The suspects were not found during a search of the location, officers say.

The four suspects are described as black males, with one wearing a red t-shirt with dark shorts and blue shirt wrapped around his head, another wearing a white t-shirt with camouflage pants and a shirt wrapped around his head, and a third wearing a blue tank top and dark shorts with a light blue shirt wrapped around his head. Police say the fourth suspect had a larger build, and was wearing a dull red t-shirt with dark shorts and a blue shirt wrapped around his head.
