Dorchester County businessman, GOP chairman charged with forgery

A 33-year-old Dorchester County businessman, who is also a local GOP chairman, has been charged with forgery.

According to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, a grand jury indicted Jordan David Bryngelson of Ridgeville on a charge of forgery less than $10,000.

DCSO officials say Bryngelson is president of his own construction company, Bryngelson Construction Inc. Bryngelson is also listed as the chairman of the Dorchester County Republican Party.

Investigators say Bryngelson's forgery charge stems from an incident that happened in June.

A sheriff's office report states that management from Blueline Rental contacted investigators on Aug. 26 regarding a document in which a signature was forged by Bryngelson on June 13.

Blueline Rental officials reported to investigators that Bryngelson forged a signature on a construction document, and as a result of the forged waiver Bryngelson received $2,500.
