BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - ?
South Carolina Department of Transportation reports the two accidents that shut down a portion of I-26 near Ridgeville Friday night have been cleared.
Berkeley County Officials say all westbound lanes on I-26 near Ridgeville were shut down due to two car accidents Friday night.
Authorities say the first accident happened near mile marker 191 which is located in between the Ridgeville and Jedburg exits. Officials say the accident resulted in one person entrapped and another ejected from the vehicle. Authorities say the entrapped passenger has been extracted from the car, and the ejected passenger has not yet been located.
Officials say the second accident happened near mile marker 189. Authorities say the vehicle overturned and the driver has been taken to the hospital.
Officials say at least one medical helicopter was called to the scene.
