GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified a 27-year-old man who was shot to death at a Goose Creek apartment complex late Sunday night.
Coroner Bill Salisbury says Joshua Holmes was shot at River Ridge Apartments on Harbour Lake Drive around 11:23 p.m. The Ladson resident was transported to Trident Hospital where he died at 3:20 a.m.
Berkeley County deputies say they believe the shooting may have been drug-related.
Officers responded to an apartment to investigate a report of a shooting, and said they encountered a man inside one apartment who said someone had been shot in his home, according to the incident report. The man told deputies he did not know who had been shot or who had done the shooting.
Deputies found numerous shell casings, glass and blood all over the floor of the apartment, the report states. A car outside the apartment had also been hit by bullets, once in the windshield and once in the front driver's quarterpanel above the tire, deputies say.
Berkeley County deputies say Holmes was the only one injured in the shooting.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
