CCSD: Student in custody after BB gun fired at bus stop

Charleston County School District officials say one student was injured and another is in custody after a BB gun was fired near a North Charleston bus stop Monday morning.

According to CCSD Executive Director Erica Taylor, students from Northwoods Middle School were headed to their bus stop off Ashley Phosphate Road around 8:20 a.m. when they heard a loud pop.

Taylor says one student was hit under the eye. He was treated at the scene and released.

North Charleston police responded to the scene and recovered a BB gun. Taylor says a middle school student was taken into custody.
