WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies arrested a 17-year-old on a charge of purse snatching after witnesses identified him as the person who grabbed money from a store's cash register and ran.
Timothy Tyrell Devon Moody, Jr., was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an Aug. 28 incident at Dollar General on Ashley River Road, according to court documents.
Detectives say Moody was shown on surveillance video entering the store with one other person, eventually approaching the cashier to purchase two honey buns, and giving the cashier cash. The footage then shows Moody lunging over the counter and taking money from the register, deputies say.
Store employees told detectives the pair had fled the scene, according to the incident report.
The employees identified Moody from a photographic lineup as the person who took the money in the cash drawer, a court affidavit states.
Moody was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
