GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - Crews from the Georgetown City Water and Sewer Department are working to make repairs to a collapsed sewer line that resulted in lane closures Friday morning.
Officials say a sewer line collapsed in the 300 block of North Fraser Street early Friday morning. The collapse, which caused a hole to form in the street, affected northbound traffic.
Traffic will be reduced to one northbound lane between Highmarket Street and Duke Street while crews make repairs to the line.
City Public Services Director Jonathan Heald says the sewer line that was damaged is an older line that is very fragile.
