SC Highway Patrol investigating officer-involved accident

A Charleston County deputy was involved in an accident in West Ashley Friday night.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a deputy was traveling North on Savannah Highway around 7:40 pm.

Troopers say the deputy attempted to turn left across traffic to access Dobbin Road when a car traveling South on Savannah Highway struck the deputy's vehicle.

According to the Highway Patrol, the deputy was responding to a scene at the time of the accident and the patrol car had its lights and sirens activated.

Troopers say no one was injured.

The accident is still under investigation.
