DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Dorchester County teenager found in the trunk of her own car told deputies she was kidnapped by two men who broke into her family's home early Tuesday morning.
Deputies responded to a home on Orangeburg Road at approximately 7:00 a.m. where two victims told them a pair of men broke into their home, held them and their teenage daughter at gunpoint and demanded money. When the man gave the intruders his wallet, he said they kidnapped the couple's daughter and left in her car, the report states.
Deputies say the girl's father took his own car and tried unsuccessfully to locate his daughter's car and returned to the home after deputies arrived on the scene.
Deputies patrolled the area looking for the daughter's car and eventually found it on a walking trail behind an apartment complex, the report states. Deputies say as they approached the car, they saw the trunk door open and the teen climbed out.
Deputies say that after the teen was returned to her home, she and her parents all signed forms stating they did not wish to prosecute the intruders.
