HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - Hanahan police say a 38-year-old man is behind bars after a tip led to the discovery of a meth lab in the suspect's home.
Anthony Jay Pate has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, disposal of meth waste, exposing a child to methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, altering ephedrine, and three counts of possession of schedule 4 narcotics.
Police say detectives executed a search warrant Wednesday at 5754 Murray Drive after receiving a tip about a possible meth lab at the residence.
While searching the home, officers reportedly found items that were consistent with manufacturing meth, along with a white powdery substance that tested positive for meth.
Officials say that while the lab was not active, the items prove that manufacturing was taking place at the home.
