Investigators arrest suspect in downtown Charleston shooting, armed robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say an 18-year-old armed robbery suspect accused of shooting the victim in both of his legs has surrendered.

The Charleston Police Department charged Adrian White with armed robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

According to police, White surrendered on Thursday.

Police say the incident happened on Sept. 11 at Bogard Street and President Street around 12:10 a.m. when the victim was shot in both legs and robbed of his money.

White was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The investigation is continuing.
